Course Overview:

Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2022 is an industry leading program for website development. This course teaches students foundational HTML and CSS coding in addition to the many features of Adobe Dreamweaver which can enhance productivity, creativity and functionality. In order to complete the course successfully, students will need a copy of Dreamweaver CC.

This course prepares a student to take the Adobe Web authoring using Adobe Dreamweaver certification exam.

Students will need a copy of the Dreamweaver CC software in order to do coursework.

Students will:
  • Build a basic web page using tools provided within Adobe Dreamweaver CC 
  • Create templates which can be used to build engaging and interactive websites
  • Gain an understanding of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) fundamentals to incorporate into website design
  • Add images, tables, and text to a website page
  • Add navigation and interactivity to a webpage
  • Add animations, video, and forms to a webpage
  • Learn fundamentals about mobile design and development
  • Publish a website to a web server

Course Outline:

Lesson 1: Customizing the Workspace

This lesson will help you become familiar with Dreamweaver, the workspace, tools, and additional resources for future reference.

Lesson 2: HTML Basics

This lesson will take you through what a markup language is, some of the foundational elements of HTML, how HTML structured and its capabilities.

Lesson 3: CSS Basics

This lesson will cover Cascading Style Sheets also known as CSS, how it differs from HTML, and different methods for creating CSS code.

Lesson 4: Working with Code

In this lesson you will learn different techniques for writing with code using the various functionalities of Dreamweaver including code hinting, preprocessing and troubleshooting.

Lesson 5: Web Design Basics

This lesson covers the basics of web design including industry standard planning practices such as wireframing along with Dreamweaver capabilities including importing mockups created in other software.

Lesson 6: Creating a Page Layout

This lesson will teach you techniques to improve your speed when writing and updating code, along with features in Dreamweaver to aid in productivity.

Lesson 7: Working with Templates

This lesson covers templates, how they differ from a regular HTML page in Dreamweaver, their structure, and how to edit them using Dreamweaver tools.

Lesson 8: Working with Text, Lists, and Tables

In this lesson, you will create several webpages and work with headings, paragraphs and other text elements on a web page.

Lesson 9: Working with Images

This lesson covers how to work with images and include them on your webpage using Dreamweaver tools, import functionality, and responsive design features.

Lesson 10: Working with Navigation

This lesson covers the various links and their uses when designing a webpage. You’ll learn how to incorporate them into your own Dreamweaver designs.

Lesson 11: Publishing to the Web

This lesson takes you through the steps of publishing your page to the web, testing your site using various servers, putting files on servers, and cloaking files as needed.

Lesson 12: Working with Navigation

This lesson covers the various links and their uses when designing a webpage. You’ll learn how to incorporate them into your own Dreamweaver designs.

Certification(s):

This course prepares a student to take the Adobe Web authoring using Adobe Dreamweaver certification exam.
